My name is S Sgt. Brian Keith. In the past I have let myself blindly believe that serving in the military was as far as my responsibility went when protecting our country. I was wrong. Although I have not been in for 20 years, I did serve active duty, then served as a civil servant and as a reservist. When the election was over, I decided that I could not serve under the current elected president.

Never in my life did I fathom that certain words in the oath I swore would come to fruition, “enemies DOMESTIC”. At first I figured that it was just rhetoric from individuals whose party lost in the election, and they were just grasping at radical straws. Although my views are somewhat conservative, I really didn’t have a party that I associated with, because it seems that there aren’t any representatives. To be representatives, they have to actually respond to and act on the behalf of their constituents. Since we as Americans have allowed this to happen by not getting involved. and not restricting those that we vote into office, I have decided that I must fight for our future. It is a dishonor to our forefathers that we have allowed such a destruction of the Constitution that they put in place to protect us. They protected us, but we are refusing to protect the future, “our children”.

Because of the lack of response by Obama and his administration, it is evident to me that this is an act of treason against our country. The American people put their trust in him to protect this nation, the Constitution, and the principles from which it was founded. There is never a good reason to not be forthcoming with the American people, when you are given their trust in the highest office. There is no reasonable excuse not to have already shared what so many have requested, unless their is a direct attack against our foundation.

My fear now is that any information given to rebuff this inquiry will be false. If it is true that he is not legitimately the president, do we have enough patriots that understand how egregious this assault is, and would support the punishment that is warranted? Would our non-representatives actually do anything about it, when they do not even listen to our wishes on any small bill they wish to pass? The point for us to stand has come. We either refuse to let them tear our freedom apart, or we submit. If there are not enough true Americans out there to stop this false government, then I will not be around to see the end result. I swore to support and defend the US Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. I will gladly give my life to fulfill my oath if that is what the future of our nation requires.

It is unfortunate that we started to sew these seeds in the last administration. Although President Bush did many things that I know were the right thing, and I was proud he stood by his beliefs and principles, he violated our most important document as well. Yes, he was reacting to an unprecedented attack on our country (and personally I agreed with some of his reactions), I can not stand behind the violations of the Constitution that he perpetuated. I have to defend the constitution at all cost, even when I feel it restricts my desires. This is what order and freedom are founded on.

The past cannot be changed, so all I can do is dedicate my life to the future, and I will report for duty. Anyone who is not dedicated to these basic principles is not American, and doing nothing makes you a member to those ranks. May we have strength and be dedicated in our resolve to not dishonor our founding fathers and to defend the United States of America.

Another Obama administration nominee has tax troubles. This time, it’s Ron Kirk, the president’s choice to be U.S. trade representative. Kirk owes an estimated $10,000 in back taxes from earlier in the decade and has agreed to pay them, the Senate Finance Committee said Monday.

The committee said the taxes arise from Kirk’s handling of speaking fees he donated to a scholarship fund that he set up at his alma mater, and for his deduction of the full cost of season tickets to the Dallas Mavericks professional basketball team.

Kirk also agreed to make changes in his accounting of charitable deductions, including reducing the claimed value of a donated television from $3,000 to $1,500.

The former Dallas mayor is the fourth nominee by President Barack Obama to run into tax problems.

President Barack Hussein Obama will break a campaign pledge against congressional earmarks and sign a budget bill laden with millions in lawmakers’ pet projects, administration officials said.

Administration budget chief Peter Orszag and White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel both downplayed the $410 billion spending bill and signaled Obama would hold his nose and sign it.

Orszag said: “We want to just move on. Let’s get this bill done, get it into law and move forward.”

President Obama and top members of his administration appear to be sponsoring hundreds of millions of dollars of earmarks in the 2009 budget that Obama is trying to push through Congress, CQPolitics.com reports.

In the congressional report that accompanies the budget legislation, Obama is listed as a sponsor of a $7.7 million earmark for “Tribally Controlled Postsecondary Vocational Institutions.” Obama’s co-sponsors on that earmark include Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

According to CQPolitics.com, Senate staffers say Obama’s name will be removed as a sponsor. It is not clear if Obama will insist that his cabinet officers withdraw their earmark requests, however.

 Other earmarks traced back to members of the Obama administration:

1. Vice President Joe Biden, who asked for $94.9 million in set-asides before assuming his new office. He is a co-sponsor of those expenditure requests.
2. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar was the lone sponsor on $5.4 million of earmarks in the budget bill. Including the earmarks he supported as a secondary sponsor, he’s linked to $227.4 million of earmarks.
3. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood asked for $31.2 million in earmarks, including $380,000 to replace vehicles that assist disabled persons in LaHood’s hometown of Peoria, Ill., the Web site says.
4. Raum Emanuel Chief of Staff, the former congressman from Illinois, is currently sponsoring $3.9 million in earmarks on an individual basis.
5. Labor Secretary Hilda L. Solis, a former member of Congress representing California, is linked to $38.4 million worth of earmarks, although she was the lone sponsor for only $814,000 of that total.
6. Sec of State Hillary Clinton sponsored just under $109 million in earmarks, although many of those were sponsored in concert with other senators.

On Wednesday, Gibbs evaded directly answering a question about whether Obama would prompt his Cabinet secretaries to withdraw their earmark requests.

Emblazoned on every page of President Obama’s budget are the words: “A New Era of Responsibility.”

That would be a responsibility for you to fork over more taxes.

That would be a responsibility for your company to pay even higher taxes.

That would be a responsibility for you to foot the bill for one of the largest expansions of government welfare in history.

Obama’s budget schemes to drain staggering amounts of money from people who worked for it and steer it to people who didn’t.

This isn’t the free market. It’s the freeloader market.

“It is not just misguided but dangerous to raise taxes on small businesses and families that can’t afford to pay them,” said Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.).

According to the IRS, the top 20 percent of wage earners already pay 85 percent of the taxes in this country. Under Obama’s new redistribution alchemy, the percentage they shoulder invariably will rise.

And the ranks of people reliant upon this fattened government will surely go up, too.

House Republicans renewed their call on Friday for President Barack Obama to veto a $410 billion spending bill to fund the government, arguing that the almost 9,000 earmarks in the bill violate his campaign promise to limit excessive spending.

Republicans sent the president a letter on Friday complaining that the so-called omnibus spending bill “openly defies your commendable objectives of fiscal transparency and accountability.

“It contains nearly 9,000 ‘airdropped’ earmarks, most of which were not even considered in committee let alone on the House floor as is routine — compared to roughly 4,000 in 1994,” Republican leaders wrote.

The Republicans further argue that the spending legislation, passed earlier this week to fund the government through October, increases discretionary spending at the highest rate since Jimmy Carter’s presidency.

So how much will President Barack Obama’s budget cost us? The projected 2010 budget of $3.552 trillion can be found on page 114 of the “New Era of Responsibility” budget HERE.

The US Census bureau estimates that the current US population is 304,059,724. Dividing the $3.552 trillion by that gives us close to the $11,833 that Drudge came up with. ABC’s Jake Tapper reports that there wil be $989 billion in new taxes over the next decade.

 The media may be smitten with President Barack Obama, but recent Gallup poll results show Americans giving the new president lower marks after one month in the White House than former President George W. Bush earned at the same point in his administration.

 Heading into this week’s address to Congress, the Gallup figures showed 59 percent of Americans approved of Obama’s efforts so far, while 25 percent disapproved, and 16 percent had no opinion. According to PollingReport.com, President Bush had a 62 percent approval rating one month into his first term, with 21 percent disapproving, and 17 percent having no opinion.

 President Obama’s nominee for a top intelligence post sits on the board of a major oil company owned by the Chinese government that is widely seen as conducting business deals meant to expand China’s influence worldwide, WND has learned.

Charles “Chas” Freeman, the U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia during the first Gulf War, is slated to head the U.S. National Intelligence Council. The NIC is a crucial component of the U.S. intelligence apparatus, serving as the center for midterm and long-term strategic thinking within the American intelligence community. It provides intelligence briefs for Obama and key U.S. agencies and produces reports that help determine American policy on crucial issues, such as Iran’s nuclear program.

Freeman is on the board of the China National Offshore Oil Corporation, or CNOOC, which in 2005 tried to purchase the ninth largest oil firm in the U.S. while he was a member. The merger was halted following bipartisan congressional opposition amid fears the deal would harm American national security interests.

The Chinese oil firm also has been accused of multiple human rights violations.

The American Bankers Association has a message for the president: Stop talking trash about banks.

In his unofficial State of the Union address Tuesday night, Barack Obama said that it’s “unpopular … to be seen as helping banks right now, especially when everyone is suffering in part from their bad decisions.”

In a letter to the White House, ABA CEO Edward Yingling says bankers across the country were “disappointed and concerned” with rhetoric like that. 

“Mr. President, of the over 8,000 banks in this country, very few ever made a single subprime loan, and they did not engage in the highly leveraged activities that brought down Wall Street firms,” Yingling said.

Yingling referred the president to statements made by Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), the powerful chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, in which he said that the toxic mortgage lending that sparked the current crisis was done by mortgage brokers and others not subject to the strict rules that govern commercial banks.
